An informative collection of ts copies of official papers (April 1943 - December 1944, 32pp) relating to the activities of the Polish Underground in German occupied Poland, including 2 ts letters (5 April 1943 and 1 May 1943, 4pp) between General Klimecki and Major General Sir Colin Gubbins concerning the Polish Underground, the Armia Krajowa (Home Army, AK) and its request for Allied equipment and weapons to be air dropped into Poland to assist sabotage and resistance to German control, a ts letter and summary (30 August 1943, 3pp, 2 copies) from the Polish Commander in Chief (General K Sosnkowski) to the Secretary of State for Air (Sir Archibald Sinclair) stressing the AK's need for supplies by 1 April 1944 to ensure that the sabotage and resistance strategy and the organisation of the Uprising was a success, a ts letter (31 December 1943, 1p) from the Polish Chief of Staff (S Kopanski) to the Minister for Economic Warfare (Lord Selborne) requesting an increase in Allied aid to the AK, ts minutes of a Foreign Office meeting (22 August 1944, 2pp) concerning the problems with the aid flights to Poland which would create obstacles to the success of the Uprising, and a ts official report marked 'top secret' (26 December 1944, 20pp) by the British Observer Mission to Poland, giving a summary of the reaction of the Polish population to events since 1939, an analysis of the underground resistance and an outline of the different key elements and structures of the Polish Underground Resistance.
