Cyclostyled ts account (64pp), written in 1946 by two of her officers (one of whom later became Admiral Sir Frank Twiss), of the service of the cruiser HMS EXETER in Far Eastern waters from December 1941 up to her sinking by Japanese forces on 1 March 1942 in the aftermath to the Battle of the Java Sea and of the subsequent experiences and treatment, with especial reference to their rations and entertainments, of her surviving officers as prisoners of war in Macassar in the Celebes (March 1942), on the HAKUSAN MARU for passage to Japan (April 1942) and then in the camps at Ofuna (April - September 1942), Zentsuji (September 1942 - June 1945) and Mitsushima (June - September 1945) in Japan until their liberation by American forces; together with a draft copy (4pp) of the debriefing form completed by him following his liberation, an Admiralty circular (6pp) to Royal Navy officers repatriated from Japan and a brief cyclostyled ts account (2pp) of HMS EXETER's service in 1941 - 1942.
