4 scrap books compiled during her service with the Women's Royal Naval Service (WRNS) on 'Special Duties' between 1942 and 1945 at HMS PEMBROKE III, the WRNS training depot (Mill Hill) (April - September 1942), at HMS BEAVER (Hull) (September 1942 - March 1943), at HMS DRAKE (Devonport) (March - July 1943) and at HMS PEMBROKE III (Mill Hill) and at PEMBROKE V (Bletchley Park) (Station X), billeted at nearby Woburn Abbey (July 1943 - November 1945) and containing postcards of places visited during her service, photographs of fellow WRNS, notes and messages from friends, official notices and instructions regarding postings, promotional material about joining the WRNS, travel documents and tickets, invitations to dances, weddings and other social events, programmes for concerts performed by the Bletchley Park Drama Group and Music Society and drafts of humorous songs composed by WRNS about life at Bletchley, other theatre programmes, tickets and related magazine articles. The scrap books are accompanied by an exercise book containing ms training notes on naval history and on WRNS organisation and regulations; a further volume containing an ms account (51pp) of a trip to East Anglia (August 1944); official papers relating to her WRNS service including enlistment papers, Certificate of Service and Order for Release; various other loose papers (some of which were formerly within the albums) including diary notes, cards, letters, lists of addresses; also a file of post war letters sent to her by former WRNS referring to their wartime service and giving details of their experiences since leaving the WRNS.
