Flimsies covering his service as a Chaplain in the Royal Navy from 1938 - 1967, mostly in shore and training establishments but including appointments in the cruisers HMS CUMBERLAND (1939 - 1941) and HMS JAMAICA (1948 - 1951) and the aircraft carrier HMS TRIUMPH (1954 - 1955); other official documents including his letter of appointment and licence from the Archbishop of Canterbury to serve as a naval chaplain (1938 - 1939) and correspondence concerning his transfer to the retired list (1967); a naval signal (1p) from Commodore H H Harwood to HMS CUMBERLAND following the scuttling of the GRAF SPEE in December 1939; a brief ms diary (7pp), a ts account (2pp) and an ms synopsis for a lecture (2pp) written during his service in HMS JAMAICA on the America and West Indies Station and with the United Nations forces off Korea; several presscuttings (including two photocopies) about his service career; and a number of photographs, some with associated items, taken at various stages during his service.
