Memoir (14pp ts), based closely on contemporary letters and his diary, of his National Service with the 1st Battalion King's Shropshire Light Infantry (KSLI) in Korea, May 1951 - April 1952, giving a vivid account of his platoon's actions during that period, with particular reference to Operation Commando in October 1951, his wounding during a patrol, medical treatment and convalescence at American facilities, the Chinese counter-attacks following `Commando', the attack he led on a Chinese position in January 1952, during which he was wounded again (and for which he was awarded the Military Cross), and his return to England; circa 60 ms letters, telegrams and official War Office correspondence relating to his service in Korea and his multiple wounding, including his letters to his parents and letters to his parents from his CO and other members of the Battalion; his 1951 Pocket Diary; and an operations map of the Wangjin-Myon sector.
