Collection of letters (circa 350pp ms, with separate transcriptions) written between April 1945 and April 1946 while she was serving with the ATS as Interpreter and subsequently Liaison Officer with the Allied Commission for Austria, containing useful observations on postwar conditions in Italy and Austria, her work and social life in Vienna, the generally strained relations with representatives of the Soviet Union in the country, the political situation in Austria, and a journey into the Soviet Zone; the letters were written to her mother, the renowned Russian harpist Marie Korchinska. Also her ATS Service & Pay Book, and a collection of 20 ms letters written to her during May - August 1946 by her future husband, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Humphrey Brooke, Controller of the Monuments, Fine Arts & Archives Branch of the Allied Commission for Austria, mostly personal in content with some comment on the social circles he moved in in Vienna, but hardly any reference to his MFA&A work.
