An interesting ms letter (10pp) to her sister Hermione Calvocoressi, written in October 1917, describing her experiences during the three months that she spent as a VAD nurse at the Red Cross (?) Hospital in Tankerton, Kent, providing a detailed account of her daily routine at the hospital, describing the type of jobs carried out by the VADs and by the qualified nurses, and also mentioning living conditions, periods of leave and relations with the other staff and the patients. This letter is accompanied by a photocopy of another ms letter (6pp) sent to Mrs Calvocoressi in April 1919 from a friend in India in which she mentions the recent riots in Delhi.
