Well written ts memoir (39pp), written in 2002, describing her experiences as an evacuee in Northampton (August 1939 - February 1941) and then for the remainder of the war as a schoolgirl and teenager in Willesden, North London, with brief descriptions of her first experience of an air raid, the destruction of part of her school in a raid, rationing of food and clothes (but also mentioning her delight at buying her first pair of trousers), visiting the West End's shops and restaurants and the problems of travelling during the blackout. An expanded version of this memoir has been published under the title ONCE UPON A WAR: GROWING UP IN THE LONDON BLITZ (Oregon: Otek Press, 2007)
