Ts autobiography (823pp) by Mollie Chubb (later Brodie) of her childhood, youth and wartime experiences (1910 - 1946) covering her employment as a secretary with the Special Areas Reconstruction Association in London (1939 - 1940), her postings as an officer with the Mechanised Transport Corps to Bletchley Park, Buckinghamshire (1940 - 1941) and as an officer with the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry to Nairobi, Kenya (1941), and her work as secretary to the Special Operations Executive at GHQ, Cairo (1941 - 1942), under Lord Harcourt, and brieflly as a secretary to Enoch Powell, moving to, the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem under Aubrey Eban (1942 - 1944), SOE at GHQ, Istanbul (1944), and the British Council in Ankara, Turkey as Secretary to Sir Steven Runciman (1944 - 1945), and still with the British Council in Athens, Greece (1945 - 1946), including good descriptions of the atmosphere in London during the first year of the war, her duties with the MTC and FANY, the Blitz in London, her journey to Kenya (1941), and the social scene in Cairo, Jerusalem, Turkey and Athens during the war years. She travelled largely with her sister Cora Chubb.
