Set of 27 bulletins, July 1944 - August 1945, issued in Changi prisoner of war camp, Singapore by the Allied camp authorities giving details of following events, statistics of garden and workshop produce, provisions and dietary news and reports of their registrations with the Japanese; together with copies of some the letters and communiques circulated by higher command at the time of Singapore's surrender in February 1942 and of a ts report (2pp) on the Alexandra Hospital massacre, an original, uncompleted Selarang non-escape declaration (September 1942), a camp order concerning the inspection of working parties by senior Japanese officers (May 1944), 4 programmes for camp concerts and entertainments, a souvenir menu for an Easter Sunday meal (1945) and various orders and other documents relating to the announcement of Japan's surrender and the liberation of the camp. Wise was serving as a lance sergeant in the 2nd Battalion East Surrey Regiment when he was taken prisoner on the fall of Singapore and remained in Changi throughout the period of captivity.
