Microfilm copy of an unsensational ts memoir (133pp) written after the war by a Territorial Army officer who had been serving with the Singapore Royal Artillery when Singapore surrendered and describing his experiences as a prisoner of war in Changi camp, Singapore (February 1942 - May 1943), with H Force on the Burma-Siam railway (May - September 1943), in Sime Road camp, Singapore (December 1943 - May 1944) and in Changi Gaol (May 1944 - September 1945), with interesting references to the impact of the Selarang incident in September 1942, the hardships of H Force's railway construction work in Thailand, the increasing selfishness of prisoners of war in Singapore as food shortages became more acute in 1944 - 1945 and the black market flourished, anxieties among the prisoners about the possible repercussions of any Allied invasion of Singapore and his high regard for the RAPWI organisation.
