Collection of assorted letters, passes, forms and other material (110 main items) relating to his service as an NCO Instructor with the 3/16th Battalion London Regiment, 1915 - 1917, as an officer with the 1/4th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment (138th Brigade, 46th (North Midland) Division) in 1917, with the 2/5th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment (59th Division) in 1918, and was attached to the 2nd Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers (4th Division) when captured at Paucaut Wood in August 1918. The collection includes an account of his capture, letters sent from the prisoner of war camp at Stralsund (Danholm), and letters of sympathy sent to his parents, together with various forms and other items relating to food parcels for prisoners, and his release in November 1918. Together with several insurance policies against damage by aerial attack, 1915 - 1916, and other miscellaneous material.
