Ms portion of a diary (2pp) written during his service with the Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) as a Medical Officer attached to the 10th Battalion Hampshire Regiment (29th Brigade, 10th (Irish) Division) in the First World War and describing briefly the Bulgar attack at Kajali, Serbia, on the reverse of which is a handdrawn map showing the Allies' position (6 - 7 December 1915); together with a cyclostyled ts letter (2pp) from the Reverend J W Crozier to his parishioners in Celbridge, Ireland, 5 January 1916, in which he describes in general terms the British retreat in Serbia and their arrival in Salonika, remarking that "there are very few left with us of those who sailed from Ireland last May and we hope there are lots more coming out to fill our ranks from dear old Ireland" and appealing to people to "put forth every effort and every sacrifice to bring the Central Powers to their knees and gain for mankind a peace that will last for generations and be for the greater glory of God".
