RAF Observer's and Air Gunner's Flying Log Book (Form 1767, 47pp), May 1941 - March 1946, recording his service as an air gunner and wireless operator, including: training in gunnery, May 1941, and with No. 18 OTU, July - August 1941; active service (28 operations) in Wellingtons with No. 300 Polish Bomber Squadron, September 1941 - April 1942, when he 'failed to return from operational flight over "Cologne"'; training with No. 31 Conversion Unit, September 1944, and No. 1662 Conversion Unit, October 1944; active service (10 operations) with No. 301 Polish Bomber Squadron flying in Liberators in Italy, November 1944 - February 1945, and Czechoslovakia, February 1945; and in Warwicks between the UK and Italy, May 1945 - March 1946.
Also included are his ms account (2pp, undated) of his journey through France after being shot down by a German night fighter on the return from a bombing raid on Cologne, April 1942, for which he was awarded the MM; photocopies of official records (5pp) relating to the award of the MM for his escape to Spain and then Gibraltar, including two ts statements (3pp) made by Malecki to MI9 in July 1942, about his escape; and a photograph (1p) of No. 13 Polish Course, Officers' School, July 1943.
