Collection of papers relating to his life, with particular reference to his service in the Special Operations Executive (SOE), F Section, during the Second World War, including a brief account (7pp ts, in French) written in 1967 by Newton and his brother Alfred (code names 'Artus' and 'Auguste'), outlining their wartime activities (they were parachuted into occupied France, arrested by the Gestapo and imprisoned in Buchenwald concentration camp), several identity documents including his Military ID Card and Officer's Record of Service, postwar correspondence and other papers including three postwar letters from Maurice Buckmaster, wartime head of SOE's F Section, and an album of postwar newspaper cuttings with some concerning Henry and Alfred Newton's variety act, the 'Boorn Brothers', but relating mainly to SOE and the Newton brothers' story, containing also several items from Buchenwald, notably Newton's prisoner number and cloth identification triangle, a letter from fellow agent André Courvoisier (2pp, in French, 14 January 1966), and a large number of photographs of Henry and Alfred Newton, some while they were appearing as the 'Boorn Brothers' variety act, their family, and other SOE personnel.
