Photocopy (47pp) of a wordprocessed transcription of a diary, October 1917 - October 1918, providing extremely brief and uninformative daily entries covering his service with the 1/1st Battalion Herefordshire Regiment in Egypt and Palestine (158th Brigade, 53rd Division) and from June 1918 in France (102nd Brigade, 34th Division), referring to fighting against the Turks and sightseeing in Palestine, the German retreat on the Western Front during the latter half of 1918, a newspaper article regarding his Battalion (4 August), and reactions to the Armistice announcement; together with a photograph of a painting depicting him in Palestine, photocopies of his Protection Certificate, Attestation Card, related postcards and photographs, and additional biographical information written by his son.
