Ts transcription (7pp) of a contemporary account of his service as a Convoy Yeoman of Signals on the SS TEMPLE ARCH during the passage of convoy PQ18 from the United Kingdom to Archangel in North Russia in September 1942, with interesting descriptions of the sustained German air and submarine attacks on the convoy during which thirteen ships were lost, the concentrated anti aircraft barrages put by the cruiser HMS SCYLLA and the other escorts, and the long hours of duty under very harsh conditions which his appointment entailed; together with photocopies of a number of related items, including his official record of service (1939 - 1945), two ms letters (December 1942) from Rear Admiral E K Boddam-Whetham, his Convoy Commodore on the TEMPLE ARCH, about their service together in PQ18, presscuttings about Richardson's experiences during the convoy and the award to him of the DSM, Kenneth Greenwell's posthumously published poem on PQ18 'Arctic Convoy : a Saga of the Seas' (1943), a published article on Convoy Yeomen of Signals (1986) and a small collection of photographs of Richardson in uniform and of convoy scenes.
