88 ms and ts letters written by a French speaking Leading Aircraftwoman (LACW) in the WAAF to her family in England principally during her service overseas in North-West Europe as a Clerk Special Duties with No 24 Sector BDS RAF at Boves near Amiens, France, October 1944 - January 1945, and HQ No 85 Group RAF at Ghent, Belgium, March 1945 - July 1945, excluding three weeks with Second Tactical Air Force at Bad Eilsen near Buckeburg, North Germany, June 1945 - July 1945, but covering also her first weeks as a WAAF at RAF Innsworth, Gloucestershire (see 24 December 1942) and brief details of her postings to RAF Bentley Priory, August 1944, RAF Digby, Lincolnshire, January 1945 - March 1945, and RAF Faygate, July 1945 - December 1945, with references to civilian conditions and relations between the civil population and Allied Forces in France, Belgium and Germany, atrocity stories, cultural visits off-duty and her thoughts and feelings on a wide range of subjects together with a brief memoir (9pp) of her service life, 2 of the diaries she kept while stationed in Belgium and Germany, an exercise book with course notes on meteorology and navigation and a few other miscellaneous papers and photographs.
