Ms notebook containing diary notes (86pp) made by a Second Officer WRNS, 30 August 1944 - 13 December 1944, during her service in Arromanches, Normandy, Northern France, where she was attached to Naval Party No 1500 as Duty Officer in the Mine Intelligence Centre with details of her off-duty activities which included visits to nearby French towns and cities (many of which had been badly damaged), references to her colleagues (both WRNS and Royal Navy), and the last days of Mulberry Harbour prior to dismantling together with a scrapbook containing an edited version of her diary and official notices, newspaper cuttings, naval messages and poems mainly relating to Mulberry and Arromanches, a naval message dated 17 October 1944 and a chart of the coast at Arromanches dated July 1944 and showing the position of breakwaters, floating docks and anchorage areas.
