Loose leaf ms diary (32pp) kept by an Leading Aircraftwoman (LACW) in the WAAF, 16 September - 6 October 1944 and 27 December 1944 - 6 January 1945, describing preparations for her journey to France by Dakota and her experiences while working as a Clerk Special Duties attached to No 24 Sector based near Amiens before being evacuated to England because of the presence of enemy paratroopers and referring to her life off-duty, conditions for French civilians, the deaths of Allied personnel supposedly poisoned by Fifth Columnists, and her visit to a former launch site for flying bombs (V-weapons), 26 December 1944. Also included are brief ms notes (3pp) on her service career, 1942 - 1947; miscellaneous papers including 3 photograph albums and 2 albums of ephemera such as theatre programmes, NAAFI tokens, pay sheets, RAF forms and passes collected while she was attached to RAF BAFO in Belgium and Germany; and 2 interesting ms letters (12pp), 8 March and 10 April 1938, from a schoolfriend who witnessed the German annexation of Austria.
