A collection of papers relating to his career in the two world wars including his discharge certificate from the 19th Battalion Royal Fusiliers to take up a commission in the 7th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment (51st Brigade, 17th Division), his commissions and two letters from fellow officers (February 1916); a folder of material relating to the RFC including his flying school graduation certificate, instructions to pilots and observers and orders concerning No 14 Squadron RAF in Palestine, May - October 1918 (including lists of personnel); a folder containing material relating to his service as the Air Attaché in Paris, 1939 - 1940, including military passes, a list of RAF personnel evacuated from Bordeaux and a report on his last six weeks in France before the evacuation; 9 letters from his wife during the Blitz on London, letters, press releases and newspaper cuttings relating to his service as Head of the RAF Delegation to the USA and RAF member of the British Joint Staff Mission, January 1945 - March 1946 (including a letter signed by the Duke of Windsor and a book signed by General Eisenhower); and correspondence concerning his claim for compensation for property lost during the fall of France in 1940.
