Photocopy of a memoir (120pp ts), written in 1991, covering his childhood in the Sudeten area of Czechoslovakia in the interwar years, emigration to Palestine in October 1939 and the hazards of the journey in the Turkish freighter SACARIAH, internment near Haifa for illegally entering the country, enlistment into the RASC as a driver in late 1940 and training at Sarafand, transfer to 608 Company Pioneer Corps and service in Tobruk before proceeding to Greece shortly before the German invasion in April 1941, attempts to evade the Germans and eventual capture and imprisonment near Kalamata, transfer to Stalag XVIIIA (Wolfsberg), Austria, and Stalag VIIIB (Lamsdorf), Germany, describing life and work in the camps, arrest by the German police in October 1944 on unfounded suspicion of black market activities, and evacuation from Lamsdorf in January 1945 to Fallingbostel camp where he was liberated and flown to England, concluding with the story of his family's survival in Theresienstadt concentration camp.
