Memoir (53pp ts), written circa 1995, of his experiences during the Second World War, initially working in the Overseas Intelligence Department of the BBC's External Services in London, monitoring foreign news broadcasts (including Hitler's message to German troops immediately prior to the invasion of Poland in 1939), before joining the Intelligence Corps and engaging in field security work with 78th Infantry Division in Tunisia from December 1942 until the fall of Tunis in May 1943 (vividly describing the scenes in the city at that time), then with the Division until the end of the war during the advance through Sicily, Italy and into Austria, where he was responsible for screening Displaced Persons and refugees in part of Carinthia.
