Photocopy of a ts memoir (11pp), written circa 1940, describing how, as a Primitive Methodist minister, he enlisted in the Royal Engineers in June 1916, served with the RE Signal Company attached to the 10th Infantry Brigade (4th Division) on the Western Front (September - December 1916), was commissioned as a United Board Chaplain to the Forces and served first with the 177th Infantry Brigade (59th Division) from February 1917 - April 1918, including their operations during the German retreat to the Hindenburg Line, the Battle of Polygon Wood during 3rd Ypres, the German counter-attacks at Cambrai and the German spring 1918 offensives, and then with the 44th Casualty Clearing Station during the final Allied advance and with the Army of Occupation in Germany up to April 1919; together with photocopies of an ms transcription (12pp) of his 1917 pocket diary, of three articles (one original) from his Church newsletter, 1945 - 1946, referring particularly to his experiences at the time of the Armistice, of his commission and of various photographs of him in uniform. During his attachment to 177th Infantry Brigade, Tubb served principally with the 2/5th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment.
