23 ms letters (56pp, undated) with photocopy of an ms postcard, from him and his younger sister to their parents in Chatham, Kent, written during their evacuation to Canterbury, Kent (ca. 1939 - 1940), Porthcawl, south Wales (ca. 1940), and to relatives in Southam, Warwickshire (ca. September - November 1940) including comments on schooling, entertainment, pocket money and air raids, and a good letter describing their experience of the raid on Coventry (November 1940) as seen from Southam.
