Collection of papers relating to her (Jewish) family, comprising: three letters (9pp ms) dated 1941 and 1942, written in German by her grandmother Betty Lucas, the last two written on the eve of her and her husband's deportation from Germany to Theresienstadt concentration camp, where they both perished; two death certificates in Czech, with German translations, dated 1953, for her grandparents Max and Betty Lucas; photograph of Max and Betty Lucas; official copy of the birth certificate of her father Ernst Lucas; false French identity card for Ernst Lucas, stamped 1943; two diplomatic courrier documents issued to Ernst Lucas in 1946 and 1947 (one damaged); poor photocopy of an incomplete account (236pp ts) written in German by her maternal grandfather Ludwig Hirsch, describing his family's experiences in Belgium and German-occupied Holland during the Second World War; small album of photographs and ephemera relating to her YMCA work with German POWs in Belgium after the Second World War; 13 issues of the German-language YMCA magazine 'Tieflot' for German POWs, to which she contributed; and a few miscellaneous related items.
