Wp account (6pp) consisting of scattered recollections of his evacuation as a schoolboy to a farm in Nantwich, Cheshire (c.1940) including details of the ease with which he and his brother adapted to English life after being brought up in Italy, and anecdotes about life on a farm; together with an interesting ts account (3pp) by his mother of her journey with the family from Italy (May 1940) to relations in Guernsey, and her crossing to Liverpool as a helper accompanying a party of schoolchildren (including her two sons) from Guernsey (June 1940), and a ts history (3pp) of Elizabeth College, Guernsey covering its evacuation to Great Hucklow, Derbyshire during the Second World War, including details of the attempts to retain school traditions and values while struggling to find sufficient accommodation and academic tools. Mr Champion attended Elizabeth College after his period of evacuation at Nantwich.
