Ms (77pp) evacuation diary of Wimbledon Central Schools covering the period September 1939 - June 1940 when schoolchildren were sent to the Chichester area, written as a teacher at the school and giving a good description of the effects of the move on both children and on the school syllabus and of the practical difficulties encountered by the teachers. Together with a photocopy (22pp) of an ms diary kept by his 16 year-old daughter, Megan Lee, who provides a schoolgirl's perspective on the evacuation.
