Edited copy (39pp ts) of a Journal recording his air raid experiences as a teenager in Yorkshire, where he had been evacuated temporarily, September 1939; South Woodford, Essex, June - September 1940; Yorkshire again, September - December 1940; near Hertford, December 1940 - December 1942; and in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, January 1943 - March 1945. As well as recording every warning and actual raid which he experienced, he also describes some of the worst raids in detail, giving a good impression of the disruption which they caused, and describes the flying bomb menace in some detail. Also a `prisoner of war post' letter (which was returned undelivered) from his mother to a German officer who was a prisoner of war in Oflag XXIC, Germany, 1944.
