Brief account (18pp ts) written in 1983 by her sister, of her life and work covering her enlistment as a qualified nurse in the newly formed Princess Mary's Royal Air Force Nursing Service in June 1923; her inter-war service - briefly - in this country and the Middle East; her Second World War service in this country and in Aden (1942 - 1944), as Matron of the first RAF Hospital in Normandy (from August 1944) and then on the outskirts of Brussels (September 1944 - May 1945), with many comments on Allied relations; her post-war service, mostly as matron of the RAF Hospital at Matlock which specialised in the care of ex-POWs with psychiatric problems until her retirement in 1952. The account contains photographs and photocopies of newspaper cuttings and articles relating to her career and of the many messages of congratulations she received on her award of the DBE in 1950. The originals of these copies are included in the collection.
