Photocopy of ts memoir (64pp) February 1940 - April 1946, describing his military training and service in the 1st Battalion Seaforth Highlanders in India, March - September 1941, officer training October - December 1941 and subsequent service as an officer in the 10th Battalion, the 6th Rajputana Rifles at Delhi, January - June 1942, and then in the 4th Battalion, the 6th Rajputana Rifles (5th Brigade, 4th Indian Division) in the Middle East, June 1941 - December 1943, where he sees action in the fighting around the Mareth Line, March 1943, and the battle of Wadi A Karit April 1943, and finally as the adjutant of the Indian Infantry Specialist School, January 1944 - May 1945, and then on various short term postings before repatriation to England in April 1946.
