Content description
Copy of a ts account (13pp) written in 1981 concerning her internment on the Isle of Man during 1940 - 1941. She criticises the indiscriminate housing of Jews and other refugees from the German regime with pro-Nazi women. The organisation of the camp and work is described, particularly her own involvement in educating interned children. Meetings with interned husbands are mentioned, and the account concludes with a description of the tribunal system for releasing non-Nazis. With the document is a humorous wartime postcard with a cartoon of 'disguised parachutists' (with reference to the widespread 'secret enemy agent hysteria' at that time).
