Interesting collection of papers relating to his captivity in various German POW camps (mainly Stalag XXA, Stalag XIA, Oflag VIIC and Oflag IXA) during the Second World War, comprising: correspondence, mainly to Parsons from family members and others, notably the Right Reverend C M Chavasse, Bishop of Rochester (2pp ms), the Very Reverend F L Hughes, Chaplain-General to the Forces (2pp ms/ts) and Lady Knatchbull-Hugessen, wife of the British Ambassador to Turkey (2pp ms); a note of thanks (1p ms) to British officers in Stalag XXA signed by Russian and Yugoslav medical staff in the Russian camp there; five notebooks in which Parsons lists his reading-matter in camp, and also containing religious notes; a collection of entertainment programmes and related items, mainly from Stalag XXA; numerous photographs taken in the various camps, including camp funerals; and miscellaneous newspaper cuttings.
