Printed page proofs (3pp), with ms additions and amendments, of a most interesting account written in February 1941 describing how he was seriously wounded and taken prisoner in late May 1940 when serving as a company commander in the 3rd Battalion Grenadier Guards (1st Division) during the retreat to Dunkirk, his time in German prison hospitals and camps in Brussels and Malines (June - November 1940) and his escape from Malines, successful evasion through Belgium and France, and passage from Marseilles to Tunis (November 1940 - January 1941); together with a ts diary (18pp) for February - June 1941 recording his arrival in Algiers from Tunis, his detention there under house arrest by the French authorities pending his repatriation as being unfit for further military service, his clandestine intelligence activities during this time and his eventual journey home via Tangiers and Gibraltar.
