Ts account (5pp) of her experiences as a young woman during the Second World War, briefly covering her employment in a clothes factory in the City of London, in the family bakery in Stratford, East London, and as a clerk in the Victualling Department of the Admiralty (location unknown) and mentioning her memories of the Blitz from her homes in Ilford and Goodmayes, Essex, her hasty wedding to a naval rating in June 1941?, her despondency at the continual bombing and lack of employment before joining the Admiralty, and her acceptance as a volunteer to join the WRNS in Ceylon (early 1945) in a bid to escape her unhappy marriage and home life.
