Ms diary (42pp), 6 ms letters and 2 postcards, October 1914 - March 1915, describing his service as a medical orderly with Lady Paget's Hospital in Skopje (Uskub), Serbia, part of the Serbian Relief Fund, for which he had volunteered when a medical student at Cambridge University, including details of his voyage through the Mediterranean in the ss DONGOLA calling at Malta, Sicily and Athens before travelling from Salonika to Skopje, conditions in the hospital, the treatment of the Serbian wounded, tensions between Lady Paget and the hospital's chief surgeon Professor J T J Morrison, Squire's illness in January and decision to return home, and the journey back in Sir Thomas Lipton's yacht ERIN, 6 ms letters received from friends and relations (November 1914 - March 1915), 3 ms letters (February - August 1915) from a friend, R W Jackson, who accompanied him sending news from the hospital following his departure and ts extracts (4pp) from his letters home (November - December 1914) also describing their original journey and arrival, together with 4 ms letters from Lady Paget and other miscellaneous papers relating to his service, such as his passport (October 1914) and references confirming his medical experience at Cambridge and St George's Medical School, London
