Ms letter (2pp), dated 11 June 1916, written and signed 'Albert' by HRH Prince Albert, later King George VI, and addressed to Mrs Eugenie Godfrey-Faussett, the wife of his father's Equerry-in-Ordinary, Captain (later Sir Bryan) Godfrey-Faussett, describing his experiences and feelings as a Sub Lieutenant in HMS COLLINGWOOD (4th Battle Squadron, Grand Fleet) during the Battle of Jutland. He writes 'how and why we were not hit or damaged beats me, as we were being fired at a good part of the time...it seems to have resulted in a victory for us...nothing is ever talked about up here now except the action...'
