Pilot's Flying Log Book (Form 414, 77pp) recording his career as a Flight Sergeant with the RAF, June 1941 - July 1942, including: his flying training with No 22 EFTS, RAF Cambridge, June - July 1941; No 9 SFTS, RAF Hullavington, Wiltshire, August - October 1941, when he obtained his "Wings"; No 55 OTU, RAF Usworth, County Durham, November 1941 - January 1942; flying from West Africa to the Middle East, February 1942; service in the Ferry Pool with No 1 ADU, Wadi Natrun (near Cairo), Egypt, March 1942, and No 3 DI MU, Karachi, India, April 1942; active service flying Hurricanes with No 30 Squadron RAF from Ratmalana (near Colombo) in Ceylon, April - July 1942, when he was observed to crash in the sea while taking part in a Fleet Exercise and was presumed to be dead.
