Photocopy of ts transcript (35pp) of his diary covering the period 26 May - 31 October 1918 describing his capture by the Germans on the Aisne in France while serving as a Medical Officer with the 24th (2nd Middlesex) Field Ambulance, attached to the 24th Brigade, 8th Division, his transportation to Rastatt POW camp in Germany and life and conditions there (until June) and at Stralsund POW camp in north Germany (until his repatriation in October 1918), giving interesting information about morale, the decline in officer behaviour as POWs, food, escape attempts, treatment by the Germans, and the social and psychological problems of close incarceration.
