Ms and ts correspondence (248pp) in French and English, August 1949 - May 1984, relating to efforts made by Air Chief Marshal Sir Basil Embury, The Royal British Legion and the Royal Air Forces Escaping Society to alleviate her financial difficulties and to obtain a pension for her as a Frenchwoman married to a British subject from the French and British authorities, including: references to her work with the French Underground Movement, in helping 210 soldiers and RAF personnel to safety, for which she was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM), Croix de Guerre, and US Medal of Freedom; her torture and the murder of her husband Harry by the Gestapo; and a letter from Group Captain Sir Douglas Bader (1p), January 1980, concerning his experiences of her underground movement while escaping as a POW.
