Microfilm of ts account (344pp probably written in the late 1980s) describing his his service as a sergeant navigator with No 7 Path Finder Squadron, Bomber Command, including being shot down over Arras in June 1944, his short lived evasion from capture, his arrest, interrogation and imprisonment (Amiens, Brussels and Frankfurt, June - July 1944; Stalag Luft VII, Bankau, July 1944 - January 1945; Stalag IIIA, Luckenwalde, January - May 1945), the march westwards in January 1945, liberation by, and difficulties of life under the Russians, and his repatriation to England (May 1945), giving excellent descriptions of his attempt to evade capture, his treatment under interrogation, the minutiae of POW life, including social and psychological difficulties, the attitudes of German guards, German civilian conditions after the surrender, and the behaviour of the liberating forces. Also: photocopies of ts fragments of further Second World War memoirs (34pp) covering his service with No 622 Bomber Squadron and No 7 Path Finder Squadron on raids over the Friesian Islands, Frankfurt, Essen and Longues in France.
