Vivid ts account (15pp, written in 1991 and published in 'The Times') of the pursuit and sinking of the German battleship BISMARCK (26 - 27 May 1941) giving his own experiences as the pilot of a Swordfish of No 820 Squadron Fleet Air Arm, of which he was the Commanding Officer, in the aircraft carrier HMS ARK ROYAL, including the attack which his squadron made by mistake on the cruiser HMS SHEFFIELD, and the first air attack on the BISMARCK, filling in with other background details concerning the ship's destruction.
