Brief ts account (1p) written in 1991 describing her service in the Royal Marine WRNS, June 1943 - June 1946, mainly at the Royal Marine Gunnery School in Plymouth referring to her living conditions, friendly relations with the male Royal Marines, a visit from her father who was working as an Armaments Supply Officer for the Admiralty and her marriage after the war to a sergeant in the Dutch Army.

Who Was Violette Szabo?

Violette Szabo (1921-1945) worked for 'F' Section in Special Operations Executive (SOE) during the Second World War. During a mission in France she was captured and imprisoned by the Nazi's. She was executed in Ravensbrück concentration camp and posthumously awarded the George Cross, the highest honour given to civilians.
