Pilot's Flying Log Book (66pp), March 1929 - September 1931, recording his service as a Pilot and Flying Officer, including: his training with No 6 and 10 Flights, "C" Squadron, No 1 FTS, March 1929 - February 1930; being awarded his Pilot's Flying Badge, February 1930; his service with "B" Flight, No 9 (Bombing) Squadron, RAF Manston and RAF Boscombe Down, March 1930 - September 1931, flying the Vickers Virginia, being promoted to Flying Officer and qualifying as a First Pilot by Day, August 1930, and by Night, April 1931; and attending the Air Pilotage Course, RAF Calshot, flying the Southampton, May - August 1931. Also included are his Certificate (1p) issued by the RAF Swimming Association, July 1930; his Certificate (RAF Form 985, 1p) on completing a course of instruction in Air Pilotage at RAF Calshot, August 1931; his copy of an Order, "Enfringements of Flying Regulations", issued by Air Vice Marshal F R Scarlett, AOC Air Defence of Great Britain, RAF Uxbridge, September 1928, to stop unnecessary low flying and unauthorised acrobatics; and his signed photograph, October 1941.
