Photocopy of ts account (246pp, written ca 1988) describing: his life as a cabinet maker apprentice with GWR, Swindon (September 1939 - June 1940), volunteering for service with the RAF and training with 6 School of Technical Training, Hednesford as a flight mechanic, airframe, postings to 43 Squadron at RAF Drem, Scotland (January 1941), RAF Cosford (August 1941), 59 Operational Training Unit, Crosby on Eden near Carlisle (October 1941), Sealand (January 1942), 501 Squadron at Ibsley, Hampshire and Middle Wallop (July - August 1942) and thereafter with 32 Squadron at Baginton, Coventry (October 1942), Phillippeville (November 1942) and Tingley (May 1943) in Algeria, at La Sabala (August 1943) and Montecorvino (October 1943) in Italy, Regghai, Algeria (November 1943), Foggia, (January 1944), Canne (July 1944) and Taranto (October 1944) in Italy, Kalamaki, Greece (October 1944), Sedes, Salonika, (December 1944), Abukir and El Maza, Egypt (March 1945), Ramet David, Peta Tiqva and Aquir in Palestine (March 1945 - March 1946). He largely dwells on RAF life, entertainments (including brothels), and daily duties, as well as incidents in his RAF life, although he gives useful hints about his preference for southern civilians over northerners, and about Jewish terrorist attacks on the British in Palestine. He finished his service as a Sergeant and was repatriated and demobilised in March - April 1946.
