Microfilm copy of ts memoir (202 pp) of his service in the Royal Navy, 1940 - 1946, describing his training at HMS ROYAL ARTHUR, HMS COLLINGWOOD and HMS PEMBROKE, September 1940 - December 1940, and service as a rating in the cruiser HMS SUFFOLK, January - August 1941, which included stalking the BISMARCK, his officer training, August - December 1941, then service with Coastal Forces in the North Sea and North Atlantic in ML264, attached to the Royal Naval Patrol Service, January 1942 - January 1943, then in MTB652, 55th Flotilla, March 1943 - October 1944, including operations on D-Day (June 1944), followed by command of MTB770, November 1944 - June 1945, during which he witnessed the loss of the Free French destroyer LA COMBATTANTE (ex HMS HALDON), and a period spent recommissioning and returning to the German Navy of the RICHTHOFEN and IMMELMANN which involved visits to Wilhelmshaven and Kiel, August 1945 - July 1946, then his RNR service, 1950 - 1965, including periods in the battleship VANGUARD in 1951, the destroyer WILTON in 1952, and the destroyer JUTLAND during the Royal Review in 1953.
