Photocopied ts account (90pp including index) of a four week tour undertaken by a lady photographer in March 1919 to provide a pictorial record for the archives of the Imperial War Museum of the work being done by British women in France and Belgium covering her visits to hospitals, canteens, clubs, camps and convalescent homes and her encounters with women in the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (FANY), Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC), Women's Royal Air Force (WRAF) and Queen Mary's Army Auxiliary Corps (QMAAC), with British and American nurses (including Voluntary Aid Detachment (VADs), QAs and Red Cross workers) and with units run by the Society of Friends and containing graphic descriptions of devastated towns and villages, battlefields and burial grounds. A copy of OLIVE EDIS: IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM PHOTOGRAPHER IN FRANCE AND BELGIUM, MARCH 1919 by Jane Carmichael (IWM Review No 4) has been placed with the collection.
