Ts memoir (45pp) of domestic life in wartime Britain, 1939 - 1945, describing her work as a typist at the War Office, 1939 - 1940, and HQ, South Western Command, 1940 - 1941, and the effects of German air raids on Plymouth (1941), London (1943) and Portsmouth (V1 and V2, 1944) and with reference to her husband's service in the Royal Navy as a rating in the training establishment HMS ROYAL ARTHUR at Skegness (1940), as a coder in the destroyer HMS BEAGLE on North Atlantic convoys (1940 - 1942); on a radar course at Battersea Polytechnic (1942 - 1943); in the training establishment HMS VALKYRIE on the Isle of Man (1943); and as a radar mechanic in the minesweeper HMS HALCYON based on Plymouth until he was commissioned as a Sub-Lieutenant RNVR in November 1944. Also included is a summary of her husband's account of the sinking of the cruiser HMS EDINBURGH on a North Russian convoy in April - May 1942.
