Circa 430 ms letters written to her parents in Northern Ireland during her service as a Corporal in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force, July 1940 - August 1945, with details of her initial training at West Drayton, attendance on a course for telephonists at Worcester and postings to RAF Rudloe Manor, near Corsham, Wiltshire, September 1940 - January 1944 and RAF Bentley Priory, Stanmore, Middlesex, February 1944 - August 1945 with particular emphasis on her off-duty activities, which included visits to the famous Stage Door Canteen in London, and useful references to civilian conditions, air raids (including the Baedeker raid on Bath, April 1942) V weapon attacks, attendance on a WAAF approved course in domestic science (1945) and VE Day and VJ Day celebrations; also a ts unpublished book (331pp) based on her wartime correspondence, diary notes for August - September 1939 and March - May 1940, an ms diary with entries on world affairs 1939 - 1940, miscellaneous papers including correspondence from friends and relatives, 1940 - 1941, and various photographs.
