Notebook containing excellent ms account in noteform (6pp nd) of preparations for, and every stage of the execution of a raid on Cologne on 3/4 July 1943 by a Halifax bomber of No 51 Squadron RAF in which he was bomb-aimer, describing vividly the experience of being shot down; 3 printed articles (2 in French with translations) from 1972 and 1983 describing the raid, the interception, the crash near Rance in Belgium and how he was sheltered by the local resistance for 15 months; 6 ms letters (ca July - September 1944) sent between him and other British and American air crews sheltering among locals in German occupied Belgium; ms/ts correspondence (September 1944 - February 1946) from/about those who sheltered him, giving and requesting news; official and personal correspondence / telegrams (1944 - 1945) reporting him missing, declaring him killed in action, and announcing his survival, including the King's letter sent to next of kin.
